3 Ways to Help Prevent Wisdom and Inspiration Fails
Wise people are good; people who can inspire others to follow wisdom and holiness, maybe even better.
Wisdom is celebrated in the Bible, not necessarily just as a Godly attribute, but also as a guide in a functional society. Those who are seen as wise have the advantage. They become kings; they have the ear of kings. The learned sit at their feet. The proletariat aspire to gain that status.
There’s never a bad time to be wise; there’s never a bad time to inspire others. Creating something is good, but creating inspiration in others is something great. There are a lot of people who have great insights into the world around us and are inspiring others every day, but it’s moving people to righteousness that the Bible says will endure. I believe most people can inspire others, but it takes knowing yourself, and then being and reflecting the best of who you are.
Everyone knows inspiration when they experience it. It puts things into place to move us from one station to the next. And everyone wants on the inspiration train.
Here are some ways to get you closer to being seen as wise, and leaving an enduring mark of inspiration:
(1) Read the Biblical books of Proverbs and Ecclesiastes
These books are the proletariat hotline; if you have questions, they have a lot of the answers. There is so much about wisdom and life in these books, that the upper echelon of the wise still continue to study them. They are transcendent of time, because they speak to the human condition and the need to rise above ourselves. They will help you maximize your potential.
(2) Wise people never see themselves as fully developed
Proverbs 12:15 says: The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice. Proverbs 15:22 says: Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed.
The greatest leaders understand that there will always be a gap in their understanding, and they will seek to fill those gaps, with continued learning and surrounding themselves with people who complement them and lessen or erase the significance of those gaps. The foolish people of this world see themselves as complete. And that is perhaps the greatest downfall of a person, when they believe that they have arrived. All eyes are on them and they feel that there is nothing more that they can be taught. The wise believe that there is never enough to learn. They seek new ways to view their surroundings and situations, always wanting to accomplish more and be better at what they do.
Never stop learning. Ever.
(3) Love and service are the extension of inspiration
Hebrews 10:24 says: Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works. Who you are is how you will be measured. How and what you consider as your means to inspire others will be what sets you apart from the others. It will be the measure of wisdom either leveraged against you or confirmed in you.
Whether a Christian or non-Christian, inspiration serves to change things as they are. Christians are to seek love and service as the reason they inspire. God first loved and served us in the message of redemption, and we are to make that message as much of a reality in the lives of those around us as we can.
There is much to consider, and that is what the wise spend a lot of time doing. Consider many things; do many more.

Perhaps the greatest thing to say about wisdom and inspiration is to go before the Lord and seek His counsel above all else. There is only so much that we can do by ourselves. The Lord lights the way; will you allow Him to do that for you?
So, seek wisdom; it’s never a bad thing. Seek also where wisdom leads, and that is inspiration. We all want to inspire others. With God, prayer, reflection, and work, it can happen. Amen.
