Freedom in Jesus is a Tenet of the Gospel

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. — 2 Corinthians 3:17
The Spirit brings freedom, as opposed to death, bondage, and slavery. The promise of a resurrected Christ is that we are free from the suffocating power of sin that Satan seeks to hold over our heads.
The Spirit is here to encourage us with the promise of Christ, that we can be happy and joyful, even if things are a struggle. It is the purpose of God, that through Him, we can rise above the torment of a hateful world and the baggage of regret.
The Founders of our country realized that, oftentimes, a monarch brings hopelessness instead of freedom. When we feel powerless to do anything about our condition, we settle for whatever joys we can get quickly, and we stagnate in our present situation. So they set up a governance structure which, if considered rightly, will always bring hope because we can rise above our current situation, no matter how bleak it seems today.
Two-hundred-plus years later, we still believe that the freedom we have in Christ to accomplish great things is one of the core tenets of the country in which we live. May the concept of freedom always point us to Christ, to remind us of how liberating freedom from sin is to set us free for God’s glory. Amen.
